How affiliate links work on Yanscape

Yanscape lists beauty advent calendars and beauty edits sold by third-party UK retailers (such as Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, Space NK, Boots, and Latest in Beauty). Many of the outbound links on this site — including the “Buy from retailer,” product image, and product title links on calendar detail pages — are affiliate links.

Affiliate links typically pass a tracking parameter to the retailer that identifies Yanscape as the referrer. If you complete a qualifying purchase within the retailer's tracking window (often 24 hours to 30 days, set by the retailer's programme), Yanscape may receive a small commission, paid by the retailer out of their existing margin. You pay the same price you would have paid without using our link.

We use affiliate networks including Awin and may add others over time. Where possible, affiliate links open the retailer's product page directly so the destination is transparent.

Editorial independence

Affiliate commissions do not influence:

• which calendars or edits we list,
• what data fields we display (price, value, contents, status),
• how listings are ordered or ranked on listing, compare, or search pages,
• which calendars are featured on the home page or in editorial sections.

We list every calendar we can ingest from a covered retailer. Default sort orders are based on data signals (value, recency, price), not commission rate or merchant identity. If a retailer is not yet linked via an affiliate programme, we still list their calendars and link to their site as a regular outbound link.

We do not accept paid placement, sponsored listings, or “featured spot” payments from brands or retailers.

Why this disclosure exists

Yanscape serves visitors in multiple jurisdictions, and several require this kind of disclosure:

• United States — Federal Trade Commission, 16 CFR Part 255(Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising). The FTC requires “clear and conspicuous” disclosure of material connections — including affiliate-commission relationships — between an endorser and a seller.
• United Kingdom — Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Competition & Markets Authority (CMA). Affiliate marketing must be obviously identifiable as commercial content under the CAP Code and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
• European Union — Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and the Digital Services Act. Commercial intent in editorial-style content must be disclosed to consumers.
• Singapore — Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore(operator's home jurisdiction) — affiliate income is taxable income and must be disclosed where it could influence consumer decisions.

What you should know before clicking

• You will be taken to the retailer's own website. The retailer's terms, privacy policy, return policy, and shipping policy apply to your purchase — not Yanscape's.
• Prices and stock displayed on Yanscape are scraped on a regular schedule and may be out of date. Always confirm the current price and availability on the retailer's site before buying.
• Yanscape does not process your payment or store your purchase data. Any account, order, or payment information is handled by the retailer.
• If you prefer not to use an affiliate link, you can navigate to the retailer's home page and find the calendar manually — Yanscape will not earn a commission in that case, and your experience as a customer is identical.

Returns, refunds, and customer support

Because Yanscape does not sell products, we cannot process returns, refunds, exchanges, or delivery issues. Contact the retailer directly for anything related to your order. If a retailer's listing on Yanscape was inaccurate (wrong price, wrong contents, broken link), please email us at hello@yanscape.com so we can correct it.
